A professional touch to social networking

In this day and age, many people are starting to see the value of having an online presence in order to better market their skills and services to potential clients. The only trouble is that many social networking sites are so saturated with so much people – most of whom aren’t using the site for professional purposes – that employers skip it altogether.

What’s different now is that LinkedIn, a social networking site, aims to be a social network, but only for those with professional interests and those who wish to start getting professional and corporate contacts. LinkedIn really has no difference from regular social networking sites – it’s just that LinkedIn’s features are geared towards establishing professional relationships. Its sort of like Facebook, but only for professionals. You can post resumes, CVs and work samples here, and satisfied employers will also put recommendations on your profile.
